Technology: Question Answering
Question answering (QA) can be defined as the task of retrieving concise information that is relevant to a specific question posed in natural language. English QA systems date as far back as to 1960, but despite the fact that the concept of QA is quite old, work in that area is very much an active one with many challenges that need to be overcome. The main challenge in QA lies in understanding what is meant by a question and mapping that to a piece or to pieces of information that corresponds to an answer.
